Privacy Policy

This policy applies to all information collected or submitted in the Curator app.

Storing Data

When you create a Curator account, we store your boards and their content on servers in the cloud to be able to sync them to all your devices. We store only as much data as is necessary to provide the service. If you do not create a Curator account none of your content will leave your device.

Sync will work best with push notifications enabled and we need to store the token your device gives us to send them. We only use push notifications to initiate background downloads and notify you of changes to your boards. We never use push notifications for marketing.

Like most websites and apps, we collect information that may be transparent to users. For example, we may log general information about your device and crash reports to help us make Curator better.

Sharing Data

We never share your personal data, including your email address, with outside third parties.
We may share anonymous, aggregate statistics with outside parties, such as how many people use Curator.
We may disclose your information in response to subpoenas, summons, court orders, or other legal requirements; to exercise our legal rights or defend against legal claims; to investigate, prevent, or take action regarding illegal activities, suspected fraud or abuse, violations of our policies; or to protect our rights and property. Curator & Co Ltd. is a UK registered company.

Contacting You

We offer an opt-out email newsletter, through which we send occasional updates about new Curator features. You can unsubscribe at any time via the link in any newsletter sent, or by contacting us via our website.
Otherwise, we will only send you email for the following purposes:
• Resetting your password if you forget it.
• Responding to any feedback or support emails you send us.
• Notifying you of important account-related matters, such as security or billing problems.

Contacting Us

If you have any questions or concerns regarding this privacy policy or the security of your account, please contact us via our website.

Deleting data

If you would like to permanently delete your account just let us know via email.
The information and content of deleted boards and cells is deleted on the server. However, it may exist in our database backups.

Security

We take security seriously, and use several measures to protect your data. To start, all communication between the app and our servers takes place using HTTPS. Passwords are never stored on our servers. Instead, we use a modern secure password hash. If you ever forget your password, we cannot send it to you; you will need to reset it.

Consent

By using our site or apps, you consent to our privacy policy and to not use Curator in any way that could be deemed illegal by UK law.

The Future

We have no plans to sell our company or Curator, but plans can change. We reserve the right to sell to, buy, merge with, or partner with other businesses. In such transactions, user information may be among the transferred assets, but if it is, we will state so publicly, and offer you the opportunity to delete your account.
We reserve the right to modify this privacy policy. If we do, we will post those changes on this page and update the modification date below.

This policy was last modified on 1 October 2014.
